A Cardboard Town
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
Edit: There is a browser version available for this game now! I had to add it separately after the jam since the entries were locked but here it is! Link (I would recommend downloading though, as you can't fullscreen the browser version)
PLEASE READ THE BELOW BEFORE PLAYING
Notice: You must play the game in one go! The save function does not work once closing the game. I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. If there's a part you need to skip through because you've seen it already, hold down the z button. I have been told the game lasts about 20-30 min.
Notice 2: In the part where Mikhail is searching for clues in his room, check the bed the same way you go to sleep the day before (face the bed from the side and interact). I have been informed that there's a bug when searching for clues in the room where you can't progress that a few people have gotten, but others have not. I genuinely cannot figure out why this is happening, but I have been told that reloading an earlier save can fix the problem. Do this by opening the menu by pressing x, going down to exit game to title screen, and pressing continue and selecting the autosave. After that, try checking the bed again. I would appreciate feedback on if this bug occurred for more people, and if they were able to solve it. Thank you for your patience!

This game was made for the RPG Maker 2025 Game Jam. Credits are in the game, but I want to give special thanks to @adexia for playtesting! Edit: For some reason the credits in the game do not show this, but piano recordings were from classicals.de and musopen.

despite all my jeering and running into a bug in the bedroom that prevented me from finding the note book. My chat and I had a wonderful time. I tried to give Mikehail a voice somewhat monotone and less dynamic cause he looks like that kinda guy.
Yeahh I'm really sorry you ran into the bug T-T Unfortunately, I can't fix it yet because the game files are locked for the jam :( Thank you for playing!!
NP I beat the game still. I just wanted to point it out cause it had me running around the room.
This game is very well done !
one of the best game Jam I played.
you have a great symbolism with this game as well.
thank you so much!!
This game was charming and well-done. I love the effort put into the sprites, plus the art looks very nice; your style is very cute. The themes and tone in this game were nice too, the way you presented them was enjoyable. Again, I really liked the art!
